Overview
Four steps cover complete removal. Do all four for a clean break, or stop after the ones that apply to you.
- Disconnect each publishing account inside the app, which deletes its encrypted token from your local database.
- Revoke the authorisation at the platform itself, which invalidates the token at source.
- Delete the application's local data directory, which removes every script, render, credential and history record.
- Uninstall the application.
Steps 1 to 4 require no request to us and no waiting period. If you would additionally like us to delete correspondence you sent to our support address, see section 8.
There is no account to delete
VidForge AI has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. You never created an account with us, so there is no account for us to close. There is likewise no cloud storage, no synchronisation and no server-side backup of your projects.
This means we cannot delete your project data for you — not as a matter of policy, but because we do not have it. What follows is how to delete it yourself, completely.
Step 1 — Disconnect in the app
- Open VidForge AI and go to Publishing in the sidebar.
- Open the Accounts tab.
- Select the account you want to remove and choose Remove.
- Repeat for every connected account.
Removing an account deletes its encrypted access and refresh tokens, its cached display name and avatar URL, and its account identifier from the local publishing database. The application can no longer act on that account.
Removing an account here does not delete the record of uploads it already made. That history stays in your local database until you delete the data directory in step 3.
Step 2 — Revoke at the platform
Step 1 removes the token from your machine. Revoking at the platform invalidates it at the source, which is the stronger action and the one to take if you have any doubt about who has had access to your computer. Do both.
| Platform | Where to go | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | www.tiktok.com/settingProfile → Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions | Removing the authorisation invalidates the access and refresh tokens immediately. |
| Google / YouTube | myaccount.google.com/connectionsGoogle Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services | Find your own OAuth application by the name you gave it in Google Cloud Console, then remove its access. |
| www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applicationsSettings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites | Removing the app revokes the Page access tokens it was issued. |
Because you registered your own developer application with each platform, you can also delete that application entirely in the platform's developer console — Google Cloud Console, the TikTok for Developers portal, or Meta for Developers. Doing so revokes every token it ever issued, for every account, permanently.
Platform interfaces change. If a link above no longer resolves, search the platform's help centre for “third-party app access” or “connected apps”.
Step 3 — Delete local data
Close VidForge AI before you begin, so nothing is holding a database file open. Then delete the following.
| Location | Contains |
|---|---|
| data/ | The main SQLite database with your jobs, scripts, storyboards and settings, plus the cached footage and generated voice audio. |
| data/publishing/ | The separate publishing database holding encrypted tokens, the upload queue, job definitions and your full upload history. |
| data/publishing/publishing_token.key | The Fernet key that decrypts your stored tokens. Deleting this alone renders every stored token permanently unreadable. |
| logs/ | Application log files recording pipeline stages, encoder selection and upload attempts. |
| Exports/ | Your rendered videos, thumbnails and subtitle files. Move anything you want to keep before deleting. |
| .env | Your configuration file containing the API keys and OAuth client credentials you entered. |
These sit beside the application by default. If you set DATA_DIR, LOGS_DIR or EXPORTS_DIR to custom paths, delete those instead — the application only ever writes where you pointed it.
This is irreversible. There is no cloud backup and no recovery path, because there is no copy anywhere else. Export anything you want to keep first.
5.1 If you want the deletion to be unrecoverable
Deleting a file on Windows normally leaves the underlying data on disk until it is overwritten. If your threat model calls for more, empty the Recycle Bin and then use a secure-erase tool on the free space, or full-disk encryption from the outset so that discarded blocks are already unreadable.
Step 4 — Uninstall
Remove VidForge AI through Settings → Apps → Installed apps on Windows 11, or Settings → Apps → Apps & features on Windows 10. Find VidForge AI and choose Uninstall.
The uninstaller removes the program files. It does not delete your projects, exports or configuration — deliberately, so that reinstalling does not destroy your work. Complete step 3 if you want that data gone as well.
What remains, and where
After all four steps, this is the complete picture of anything connected to your use of VidForge AI.
| Data | Held by | Status after the four steps |
|---|---|---|
| Projects, scripts, renders, tokens, history | You, locally | Deleted |
| Your developer application registration | The platform | Yours to delete in their console |
| Videos already published or drafted | The platform | Still there. Delete them in the platform's own interface. |
| Prompts you sent to an AI provider | That provider | Governed by their retention policy. Request deletion from them directly. |
| Support emails you sent us | Us | Deleted on request — see section 8. |
| Website server logs from your visits | Our hosting provider | Deleted automatically on a short cycle. |
Note the fourth row. Prompts you sent to OpenAI, Anthropic or ElevenLabs sit with that provider under your own account and your own agreement with them. We cannot delete them on your behalf; their privacy policies, linked from our Privacy Policy, explain how to request it.
Sending us a deletion request
The only personal data we are likely to hold about you is correspondence you sent to our support address. To have it deleted, email support@vidforgeai.online from the address you wrote from, and say that you are requesting deletion of your correspondence.
We will acknowledge within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may ask one verifying question to be sure the request comes from you, and no more than that. There is no charge.
We may need to retain a minimal record where a legal obligation requires it, or where the correspondence concerns an unresolved dispute or a report under our Acceptable Use Policy. If so, we will tell you what we are keeping and why.
Your other rights — access, correction, portability and objection — are set out in the Privacy Policy and use the same address.
Videos you already published
Deleting your local data does not remove videos already uploaded. Once a video reaches a platform, it lives under that platform's control and its own retention rules.
- YouTube — delete the video in YouTube Studio. Deleted videos are removed from public view immediately; Google's own retention schedule governs the rest.
- TikTok — videos sent by VidForge AI arrive as drafts in your inbox. Delete the draft, or the post if you published it, inside the TikTok app.
- Facebook — delete the post from the Page's publishing tools.
Copies that viewers downloaded, or that third parties re-uploaded, are beyond both your control and ours.
