What this covers
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies used on vidforgeai.online and its subpages. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes our handling of personal data more broadly.
It does not cover the VidForge AI desktop application, which is not a browser and does not use cookies at all. See section 7 for what the application stores instead.
What we actually use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Local storage (not a cookie) | Records whether you selected the light or dark theme so your choice survives a reload. Contains only the string "light", "dark" or "system". No identifier, and never transmitted to us. | Until you clear your browser storage |
That is the whole list. Because this entry is a preference you set deliberately and is never sent to a server, no consent banner is required for it under the ePrivacy Directive or the UK PECR — and we would rather not show you one.
What we do not use
To be explicit, this website does not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Cross-site tracking cookies or third-party identity cookies.
- Social media tracking pixels, including the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel.
- Google Analytics, Google Ads or Google Tag Manager.
- Session recording, heatmapping or scroll-tracking tools.
- Device or browser fingerprinting.
- Fonts or scripts loaded from a third-party CDN at runtime. Our typefaces are self-hosted at build time, so visiting this site does not make a request to Google or any other font host.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA and CPRA, so there is nothing here for a “Do Not Sell” link to opt out of.
Analytics
We would like to know which pages are read, but not who reads them. If we run analytics on this website, we use only a service that:
- Sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
- Does not assign you a persistent identifier or attempt to recognise you across visits.
- Reports aggregate counts — page views, referrers, country, browser and device class — and nothing at an individual level.
- Does not share data with advertising networks.
Our hosting provider also records standard server request logs, which are not a cookie technology and are described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party content
We do not embed third-party video players, social feeds, comment widgets, chat widgets or advertising frames, because each would introduce storage and tracking we have not agreed to on your behalf.
Where this website links out to another site — a platform's developer console, a provider's privacy policy — that site sets its own cookies once you arrive, governed by its own policy. Following a link is your choice, and nothing is loaded from those sites until you do.
The desktop application
VidForge AI is a native Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) application, not a web page. It has no browser engine for cookies and contains no analytics or telemetry component. It does not report which features you use.
It does store data on your disk, but this is your project data rather than tracking:
- Local SQLite databases holding your jobs, scripts, publishing queue and history.
- Your configuration file, containing the API keys and platform credentials you entered.
- Encrypted OAuth access tokens, plus the local key that decrypts them.
- Cached stock footage and generated voice audio, so repeated work is not paid for twice.
- Log files recording pipeline and upload activity for troubleshooting.
Full detail is in the Privacy Policy, and removal instructions are on the data deletion page.
7.1 The authorisation browser window
When you connect a publishing account, the application opens the platform's consent page in your own default browser. Any cookie set during that step is set by the platform, in your browser, under the platform's policy — exactly as if you had visited it yourself. We neither set nor read those cookies.
Managing your choices
You can clear or block storage for this site at any time through your browser's privacy settings. Every major browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari — provides controls to view and delete site data, block cookies, and send a Global Privacy Control signal.
Clearing storage for this site simply forgets your theme choice; the site then follows your operating system's light or dark preference instead. No functionality is lost.
Changes
If we introduce any new cookie or storage technology, we will update the table in section 3 before doing so, and will present a consent mechanism first where the law requires one. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
