Purpose and scope
This policy applies to everyone who uses VidForge AI and to every video, script, voiceover, thumbnail and item of metadata produced with it. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and breaching it breaches those terms.
It applies in addition to — never instead of — the rules of the platforms you publish to and the providers whose APIs you use. Where any of those is stricter, the stricter rule governs. Compliance with this policy does not guarantee compliance with theirs.
The software runs on your computer and we have no visibility into what you generate. This policy is therefore not a filter we enforce technically; it is the standard you agree to meet as a condition of your licence, and the basis on which we act when a violation is reported to us.
The three principles
If you remember nothing else from this page, remember these. Most violations are a failure of one of them.
- Consent. Do not use a person's voice, face, name or likeness without their informed, documented permission for that specific use.
- Honesty. Do not present synthetic media as an authentic recording of something that happened, or of someone saying something they did not say.
- Authenticity. Do not use automation to fake scale, engagement or independent voices on a platform.
Illegal content and conduct
You must not use VidForge AI to produce, publish or facilitate:
- Content that is unlawful in any jurisdiction in which you publish it or in which it is likely to be viewed.
- Fraud, phishing, investment scams, fake giveaways, advance-fee schemes or any other attempt to obtain money or credentials by deception.
- Instructions or encouragement for weapons manufacture, explosives, chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear harm.
- Facilitation of human trafficking, child exploitation, or the sale of controlled substances, weapons or endangered species.
- Material that promotes, glorifies or provides operational support for terrorism or violent extremism, or that recruits for such organisations.
- Money laundering, sanctions evasion, or the sale of stolen data or credentials.
Protection of minors
This section admits no exceptions and no context defence.
- You must not produce, publish or distribute child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises a minor, in any form — including illustrated, animated, described or synthetically generated forms.
- You must not produce content that sexualises a person who appears to be a minor, regardless of any claim about their actual age.
- You must not use the voice or likeness of a minor without the documented consent of their parent or legal guardian, and not at all where the use would be sexual, exploitative or endangering.
- You must not produce content that grooms, solicits, endangers or facilitates contact with a minor, or that normalises harm to minors.
We will terminate your licence immediately and without notice for any violation of this section, and will report it to law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or the equivalent authority in the relevant jurisdiction. No refund will be given.
Voice, likeness and identity
VidForge AI can clone a voice from a reference sample. A synthetic voice that sounds like a real person engages that person's rights regardless of what is said with it.
5.1 Voices you may use
- Your own voice.
- A voice whose owner has given you informed, specific, documented and revocable consent for this use.
- A wholly synthetic voice, or a licensed stock voice, where the provider's licence permits your use.
5.2 Voices you may not use
- The voice of any person who has not consented, including public figures, politicians, celebrities, journalists and executives.
- The voice of a deceased person without the authorisation of their estate, where local law recognises a post-mortem right.
- The voice of a minor, other than as permitted in section 4.
- A voice reconstructed from audio you obtained without permission, including from broadcasts, podcasts, interviews, videos or private recordings.
- A voice used to impersonate someone for the purpose of gaining trust, money, access or credentials.
“Publicly available” is not consent. That a recording of someone's voice can be downloaded does not create a right to synthesise it.
5.3 Likeness and impersonation
You must not impersonate any person, brand, publication, government body or organisation, including us. You must not publish to an account that presents itself as an official channel of an entity you do not represent, and you must not fabricate credentials, endorsements, affiliations, reviews or testimonials.
Deception and misinformation
You must not use VidForge AI to produce or publish:
- Synthetic media depicting a real person saying or doing something they did not, presented as authentic — including political deepfakes and fabricated confessions.
- Fabricated footage of a real event, or real footage recontextualised to misrepresent what it shows.
- False or misleading claims about elections, voting procedures, eligibility, candidates or results, or content intended to suppress or deter voting.
- Medical or health claims that contradict established scientific consensus, including vaccine misinformation, false claims about diseases, and promotion of unproven or dangerous treatments.
- Investment, cryptocurrency or trading claims that misrepresent risk or guarantee returns.
- Fabricated news reports, or content imitating the branding or format of a legitimate news organisation.
- Content designed to manipulate a market, damage a competitor through falsehood, or generate a false emergency.
Clearly labelled satire, parody, commentary, education and fiction are not covered by this section, provided the labelling is prominent enough that a reasonable viewer scrolling a feed would not mistake the content for a factual account. A disclaimer buried at the end of a description does not meet that standard.
Harassment and hateful content
You must not use VidForge AI to produce or publish content that:
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates any person, or that encourages others to do so.
- Reveals private information about a person without consent, including home address, phone number, workplace, financial details, immigration status or medical history.
- Depicts or describes a person in a sexual manner without their consent, including non-consensual intimate imagery and synthetic nudity.
- Attacks, dehumanises or promotes hatred, violence or exclusion against a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious disease.
- Denies or distorts a documented atrocity or genocide, or celebrates its perpetrators.
- Promotes, instructs in or glorifies suicide, self-harm or disordered eating.
- Depicts gratuitous violence or gore for shock value.
- Defames a person or organisation by asserting a falsehood as fact.
Platform integrity and spam
VidForge AI exists to remove production drudgery, not to manufacture inauthentic scale. You must not:
- Publish to accounts you do not own or are not authorised by the owner to manage.
- Operate networks of accounts that present as independent while being centrally coordinated.
- Post the same or near-identical content repeatedly across accounts to game distribution.
- Generate content with no informational or entertainment value in order to farm views, subscriptions or ad revenue.
- Artificially inflate views, likes, comments, followers or watch time by any means.
- Use misleading titles, thumbnails or metadata that misrepresent what a video contains.
- Circumvent a platform's rate limits, quotas, automated-behaviour rules, content moderation, age restrictions or monetisation policies.
- Use the software's batch or scheduling features in a manner that any platform's own developer or spam policy prohibits.
Platforms enforce these rules against your accounts, not against us. A suspension, demonetisation or permanent ban arising from your publishing behaviour is a consequence you bear alone, and is not a defect in the software or a basis for a refund.
Intellectual property
You must not:
- Publish copyrighted footage, images, music or text without a licence permitting your use.
- Ignore or misapply the licence terms attached to stock assets retrieved through Pexels, Pixabay or any other provider, including attribution requirements.
- Use trademarks in a way that suggests affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement that does not exist.
- Reproduce another creator's video, script, format or channel identity in a manner that infringes their rights or deceives their audience.
- Circumvent digital rights management, or use content obtained by circumventing it.
Prompting an AI model to imitate a specific living artist, presenter or creator's style may engage their rights in some jurisdictions even where the output is not a direct copy. Exercise judgement.
Sensitive and regulated topics
Some subjects are permitted but carry a higher standard of care, because AI Output on them is both more likely to be wrong and more likely to cause harm when it is.
- Medical, mental health, legal, tax, immigration and financial topics — verify every factual claim against a primary source, and state clearly that the content is not professional advice.
- Regulated products including pharmaceuticals, supplements, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, gambling, firearms and financial instruments — comply with the advertising and disclosure law of every territory in which you publish.
- Content aimed at children — comply with COPPA, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and the equivalent regime in your territory.
- Ongoing crises, disasters and conflicts — do not publish unverified claims, and do not fabricate footage or eyewitness accounts.
Do not rely on AI research output for any claim a viewer might act on. The research and script stages can produce confident, fluent falsehoods; reviewing them is your responsibility.
Technical misuse
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the software except where law expressly permits it, or circumvent any licence or usage restriction.
- Use the software to attack, probe, overload or gain unauthorised access to any system, network or account.
- Distribute malware, or embed malicious code, hidden redirects or deceptive links in generated content or metadata.
- Share, resell or expose another person's API keys or OAuth credentials, or use credentials you obtained without authorisation.
- Redistribute, rebrand or resell the software, or offer it as a hosted service.
- Use the software to scrape a platform beyond what its API terms permit.
Disclosing AI-generated media
Every video produced with VidForge AI contains synthetic media — at minimum a synthetic voiceover, and usually an AI-assembled edit. Disclosure is increasingly required rather than merely advisable.
- Comply with each platform's synthetic-media labelling requirement. Most major platforms now provide a disclosure toggle or metadata field; use it.
- Comply with any legal disclosure obligation in your territory, including transparency requirements under the EU AI Act and comparable rules elsewhere.
- Disclose prominently and before the viewer can be misled — not only in a description they may never open.
- Never label synthetic media as authentic footage, and never remove or defeat a platform's synthetic-media label.
The software provides metadata fields you can use for this purpose. It does not apply a label on your behalf, and the obligation is yours.
Enforcement
Where we become aware of a breach of this policy, we may, depending on its seriousness: contact you for an explanation; require you to stop and remediate; withdraw support and future updates; suspend or terminate your licence under section 13 of the Terms of Service; decline to sell you further licences; and report the matter to law enforcement or to the affected platform or provider.
Where reasonable and lawful, we will describe what we believe you have done and give you an opportunity to respond before acting. We will act immediately and without notice where the conduct is unlawful, involves child sexual abuse material, or presents a risk of serious harm.
Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund, and does not limit any other remedy available to us or to any person you have harmed.
Reporting a violation
If you believe someone is using VidForge AI in breach of this policy, tell us at support@vidforgeai.online. Please include links to the content, a description of the problem, and any evidence connecting it to this software. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days.
Two things worth knowing. First, we do not host content, so for the fastest removal you should also report it to the platform hosting it, which controls takedown. Second, if the content involves a minor, report it to your national law enforcement authority as well — that route matters more than ours.
If your voice or likeness has been used without your consent, contact us and we will assist as far as we are able, though the platform hosting the content and, where applicable, your local data protection authority hold the effective remedies.
Changes
We will update this policy as the law, platform rules and the capabilities of the software change. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use VidForge AI after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
